China Fashion Week

The annual China Fashion Week opened in Beijing in March, this is the 13th year that Beijing has hosted China Fashion Week. It runs until March 30. Photographers, fashionistas and industry leaders flocked to the event, which kicked off China Fashion Week 2011.

The show was an indication of what's in store for Autumn/Winter 2010-2011 and was reminiscent of recent runways in New York and Milan. There will be approximately 50 events including fashion shows, professional contests, conferences and forums during the China Fashion Week. First event of the Week was the International Young Fashion Designer Competition, a contest involving more than 30 designers from 18 countries including France, Germany and Russia.

China Fashion Week is known for its promotion of emerging designers and this year is shaping up to be no exception.
